Upon selection by the committee, the successful nominees will receive an engraved plaque and acknowledgement by a documentary video that will be presented at the Providence Health Care Annual General meeting in June and a cheque for $1,000.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted to the office of Mission, Ethics & Spirituality by Friday, March 30 by email: eturtle@providencehealth.bc.ca or fax: 604-806-9458 or internal mail: 11th floor, Hornby Site.

Keeping the Promise Award

Presented by Providence Health Care in conjunction with St. Paul’s Foundation, this award is in honour of the rich history of our founding congregations and their commitment to social justice. Our Sisters lived with the conviction that everyone had value and deserved care and that compassion was an essential ingredient in treatment. We acknowledge the responsibility of carrying on the work of the Sisters and honour their legacy through this award.

Our Keeping the Promise Award will be presented to a clinical staff member, a staff member or a volunteer who most clearly demonstrates service to those from marginalized communities and contributes to the promotion of social justice within and outside of Providence.

Two Keeping the Promise Awards may be given out:

  • One Award to a nominee from Providence’s acute care sites.
  • One Award to a nominee from Providence’s residential sites.

Upon selection, the successful nominees will receive a framed Keeping the Promise Award certificate; a cheque for $1,000; and access to up to $1,000 towards furthering their education or professional development.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted to the office of Mission, Ethics & Spirituality by Friday, March 30 by email: eturtle@providencehealth.bc.ca or fax: 604-806-9458 or internal mail: 11th floor, Hornby Site.
