Reminder: Call for Mission & Keeping the Promise Award nominations are now open

Do you know a PHC staff member, clinician, physician, researcher, or team that best demonstrates the Mission, Vision, and Values of Providence Health Care and the abiding spirit of the Founding Congregations of Sisters? If the answer is yes, please spotlight the amazing stories of individuals and teams who live our PHC vision and values by submitting your nomination for the Mission and Keeping the Promise Awards. Nomination forms and criteria are attached below. Deadline for applications is Friday March 13, 2020.
2020 Awards
Mission Award
Mission Awards are awarded annually to one individual and one team. They represent an opportunity for staff to recognize colleagues who exemplify a dedication to living our shared mission and values.
Upon selection by the Awards Committee, the recipient will receive:
- An award that will be presented at the Providence Health Care Long Service & Mission Awards Gala in May.
- In previous years, the Mission Awards used to be given at the Annual General Meeting luncheon events. Beginning last year (2019), these awards were incorporated into the Long Service Gala at PHC.
- An acknowledgement by a documentary video that will be shown at the gala.
- Award funds of up to $1,000 that may be used to support a priority need in their department or in support of a PHC mission-driven activity.
- Mission Team Award recipients will also receive the Mission Team Trophy to display for the year.
Nominees not selected to receive a Mission Award will receive a letter and certificate acknowledging their contribution to our Providence Health Care mission-driven culture.
Keeping The Promise Award
The Keeping the Promise Award is presented by Providence Health Care and generously supported by St. Paul’s Foundation. This award honours the rich history of our Founding Congregations and their commitment to social justice. Our Sisters lived with the conviction that everyone deserved care and had value. They also believed that compassion was an essential ingredient in treatment. This award acknowledges the responsibility of carrying on the work of the Sisters and honours their legacy.
Upon selection by the Awards Committee, the successful nominee will receive:
- An award that will be presented at the Providence Health Care Long Service & Mission Awards Gala in May.
- An acknowledgement by a documentary video that will be shown at the gala.
- Award funds of up to $1,000 that can be used to support a priority need in their department or in support of a mission-driven activity.
- Additional award funds from St. Paul’s Foundation of up to $1,000 to be used in support of education.
Nominees not selected to receive the Keeping the Promise Award will receive a letter and certificate acknowledging their contribution to our Providence Health Care commitment to social justice.
Nominations
- Nominations should include examples that demonstrate how the nominee lives our Providence Health Care vision and values.
- There is no limit to the number of nominations any one person may submit.
- Nominations must all by typewritten and submitted to Lucy Luongo, Mission Services at LLuongo@providencehealth.bc.ca by Friday March 13, 2020.
