This month, RN Melissa Notle submitted a PSLS report related to a fall that happened on her unit at Parkview.

In fact, the PSLS report was so comprehensive that the basis of it will be used for simulation learning and further conversation around falls and risk mitigation.

Her diligence demands recognition and so, in lieu of this month’s ‘Good Catch’ award, Melissa and her team got together to celebrate her being awarded the inaugural “Reporter Accolade” Award of the Month from Patient Safety.

Thank you to Melissa, for taking the time to diligently catalogue what happened and hats off to Nicole, whose leadership in reviewing the report and following up on all PSLS’s creates a strong safety culture and ensures staff’s shining work in the area is acknowledged and celebrated.

“I encourage our team to continue the fabulous work and keep reporting through PSLS,” says site manager Patty Yoon. “It does not go unrecognized!”
