Patients and breast cancer survivors came together on October 10, 2015 and helped raise more than $24,000 for Tapestry Foundation for Health Care’s campaign to renovate the Providence Health Care Breast Centre.

The successful event is supporting the $475,000 project to create much-needed additional patient consultation rooms at this busy MSJ clinic. Since 2009, more than 17,000 patients have come through the doors of the Breast Centre. With steady growth in patient volumes over six years, space in this small clinic has now become stretched to capacity and renovations are needed to better serve patient needs.

The event was spearheaded by the Breast Centre’s nurse navigator, Imelda Villeneuve, and grateful patient Mila Sioson, who organized the festive event that included dinner, dancing and auctions and entertainment for 360 guests.

“The warmth and love of all of our patients was a special ingredient for this event,” said Imelda. “We are committed to their care, and they in turn are there for us when we need support for the Breast Centre.”
